Mom's Daffodils..... I bought me some this year and I'm going to plant them and see if the come up next year. I have planted tulip bulbs several years but they never come up so I am hoping to have more luck with these bulbs. I've always wanted daffodils but have never had any in the yard.
When we bought this house, this hycinth was on the edge of our bank at the back of the house next to the bank of the woods. Even after we bought the adjoining lots and had the timber cut and the area cleaned up.... this lone plant kept coming up year after year. So..... last year Larry and I dug it up and planted it in the flower bed. I laughed and said we probably jinxed it by moving it..... but it has come back up this year!
The bush has been here since we bought the house. After looking closely, most of the plant has died. There is only a sprig left that is blooming that is living. I so hate to loose this old plant. Hopefully cutting the dead away will keep it living and bring new life to the plant.
Thanks goodness this did come back up this spring after we transplanted it. Larry's mother said you couldn't get tulips to come back up and planting them - they used to sometimes years ago but she couldn't get any to come back up.
